The Amazon FBA Heavy & Bulky program is specifically designed for goods that are too large or too heavy to be delivered on standard pallets. Think furniture, mattresses, large appliances, or long objects that don’t fit within Euro or UK pallet dimensions. In this guide, we explain step by step how to prepare, pack, label, and register your Heavy & Bulky delivery according to Amazon’s guidelines. We focus on the EU and UK, with special attention to Germany.

Disclaimer: This guide is intended to help businesses organize pallet deliveries to Amazon Fulfillment Centers in the European Union (EU) and United Kingdom (UK) step by step. Information in this guide is current until July 2025. Always check Amazon Seller Central for the latest updates.
Step 1 – Determining if your Goods are Heavy & Bulky
A shipment falls under Heavy & Bulky when:
The product doesn’t fit on a standard Euro (80×120 cm) or UK pallet (100×120 cm).
The product exceeds the standard pallet weight limit (EU: 500 kg, UK: 1000 kg).
The object significantly overhangs beyond the pallet dimensions.
There are large, awkward shapes like furniture, mattresses, pipes, sports equipment, or white goods.
⚠️ Important: You must register with Amazon in advance that the shipment is Heavy & Bulky. Without this registration, the delivery will be refused.
Step 2 – Packing Heavy & Bulky Pallets
Pallet choice:
Use sturdy Euro or UK pallets (EPAL or CHEP recommended).
For larger objects, two pallets side by side may be used.
Overhang rules:
For Heavy & Bulky, Amazon allows maximum 200 mm overhang per side (only with proper registration).
Product must remain stable at all times.
Stabilization:
Secure goods with straps, tension bands, or sturdy film.
Secure heavy or metal items with additional corner protectors.
For long objects (e.g., pipes): place horizontally across 2 pallets and secure firmly.
Safety:
Pallets must be movable by forklift.
No loose parts: bundle accessories in boxes or crates.
Step 3 – Labeling of Heavy & Bulky Pallets
Product labels (FNSKU): each item must have an Amazon scan label.
Pallet labels: 4 per pallet, visible on each side.
Special labeling: always use a “Heavy & Bulky” label and if needed “Do Not Break Down”.
Labels must never be under the film.
Step 4 – Registering with Amazon
Go to Seller Central → Shipments → Create Shipment.
Select Heavy & Bulky as shipping option.
Enter dimensions and weights exactly.
Print the Shipment ID and pallet labels.
Optionally upload photos of your pallet configuration (recommended if in doubt).
⚠️ Without proper registration, Amazon will refuse the shipment at the gate.
Step 5 – Booking with Cargors
Clearly indicate that your shipment is Heavy & Bulky.
Provide:
Shipment ID
Exact dimensions (including overhang)
Weight per pallet
When using 2 pallets per item: add this to the description
Cargors schedules the transport and ensures timely and correct delivery to Amazon.
